Istanbul day 2

We all went by taxi to the Chora church which was built in 1077-1081, the mosaics and frescos were carried out 1315-1321 and is now a museum. The mosaics are of the finest. After the visit we took a taxi to the house of Pierre Loti, an eccentric French writer who owned a house in Istanbul around 1900. It’s located on the Golden Horn and the view is beautiful. A lovely walk down to the water led through an interesting old cemetery. Gaby, Philippe and I returned to the city centre by boat.

    Aujourd'hui: lire Orhan Pamuk.
